AutoCheck Score

Beyond costing half the cost of CarFax, AutoCheck has their “AutoCheck Score”.  Click the icon below and check it out.

This simple Score makes ALL the difference.  Imagine, just ONE number to help you make a decision whether to buy or pass on a used car.  The Score number is always given within a range and if that number is low, you probably can do better and pass on the car.

A low number can help you negotiate a lower sale price but realize that low means low – there are problems with the car compared to similar same cars.  Personally I would pass on ANY used car that is at, or below, the low number.  There are millions of used cars – why become a bottom feeder?

Remember this, you know nothing of the car you are going to buy except what the seller tells you.  If the seller leaves out important facts, like water damage, then AutoCheck’s Score will alert you of that fact.  If you are an experienced mechanic or know of someone who is, then you can get an estimate how much the cost will be to fix the used car’s problems.

My advice is to just pass ANY used car that has a low AutoCheck score; this is a relative score to the high and low reported.

Hopefully you know what a FICO score is – Experian, the credit reporting agency, created it and you have a FICO score.  That single number determines how much credit you are given and the finance charges.  The AutoCheck Score is exactly the same principle – one number you can use to determine if a car is a turkey or a gem.  CarFax does not have this number!!!

Single Report

This is a ONE-TIME AutoCheck Report – if you only need to check one car and have a good idea that the used car will score high then this is for you.

Unlimited Reports

This is misleading – you have the ability to run up to 25 AutoCheck Reports in 60 days from the day you pay.  This is probably what you want to order; however there is something even better!

Title Guard and Unlimited Reports

For 60 days you can run up to 25 Reports AND you get TitleGuard, which is an insurance policy up to $50,000 against losses resulting from defective vehicle titles.  This is for as long as you own your car!  You can only guess as to exactly what happened to the used car in the past, the AutoCheck Report goes a long way to shed light on the past but for a few more bucks get an insurance policy and sleep better at night.

This is my recommendation – buy this package and you’ve done everything you can possibly do to insure yourself against a turkey used car.  CarFax doesn’t offer this insurance policy – a reason I recommend AutoCheck over CarFax!

AutoCheck Buyback Protection Program

If the AutoCheck Report shows no title problems then the used car is covered by the AutoCheck Buyback Program.  Read this link.  Read carefully but AutoCheck will pay you if they screw up.  This is for used cars of model year 1981 and newer and if the dealer ran the Report they did not use a non-commercial AutoCheck source.
